The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) recognizes outreach to the citizens of the State of Minnesota as a significant part of its mission. In keeping with this philosophy, UMD Information Technology Systems and Services will provide certain technological services to customers external to the University subject to the following conditions and criteria:
Customers who intend to make use of the Internet must recognize that the Internet is unmoderated in many instances. There are many sources of material that may be viewed to be offensive by some people. Customers who allow children to have access to the Internet should be particularly aware of this issue. The University of Minnesota Duluth accepts no responsibility for preventing access to any materials on the Internet, particularly those materials that may be deemed offensive.
UMD Information Technology Systems and Services staff can provide only minimal assistance to external customers without charge. Such services include providing available documentation and accepting reports of trouble at our Help Desk (726-8847). If further training is needed, you might consider attending one of the seminars available through UMD Center for Economic Development. Other service requests will be addressed only after primary needs of our internal customers are met.
Additional information about accounts is available from Spring Billiar at 726-8843. Other information on the web includes:
