Installation of Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition rolls back when the status bar displays "Preparing Virus Definition Files"
Situation:
You are attempting to install Norton AntiVirus
Corporate Edition (NAV) client. The installation fails when the status bar displays the

- RIGHT click on Intel, then select Permissions from the drop-down menu.
- Confirm that Administrators, SYSTEM, and CREATOR OWNER are set to Full Control and change as needed.
- Click OK.
To verify Permissions on the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services registry keys
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services
- RIGHT click on the Services key, then select Permissions from the drop-down menu.
- Confirm that Administrators, SYSTEM, and CREATOR OWNER are set to Full Control, click Apply to save any changes.
- Click OK.
To verify Permissions on the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Symantec registry keys
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Symantec
- Confirm that Administrators, SYSTEM, and CREATOR OWNER are set to Full Control, click Apply to save any changes.
- Click OK.
- Close Regedit to save any changes.
You should now be able to successfully complete your installation.
