ISA Ethernet adapter
For older computers
(Windows 95)
  1. Turn off the computer and remove the cover.
  2. If you're installing the adapter for the first time, find an open slot.

Firmly insert the adapter into the slot, making sure that the adapter sits straight and that none of the gold tabs on the bottom of the adapter are visible. Use a screw to fastern it securely.
If you're reinstalling the adapter because of problems, remove the adapter from the slot. If another slot is open, try the new slot. Again, firmly insert the adapter into the slot, making sure that the adapter sits straight and that none of the gold tabs on the bottom of the adapter are visible. Use a screw to fastern it securely.

  3. Replace the cover.
  4. Plug the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet adapter you just installed (at the back of your computer) and into the Etherjack in the wall. Turn on the computer.
  5. Install the Ethernet drivers (software).
Windows should display a message indicating it has found new hardware. If prompted for the drivers, insert the driver disk or CD that came with your Ethernet adapter.
  6. Remove the disk/CD from the computer. Restart your computer when prompted.

  4. Install the Ethernet drivers (software).
Windows should display a message indicating it has found new hardware. If prompted for the drivers, insert the driver disk or CD that came with your Ethernet adapter.
  5. Remove the disk/CD from the computer. Restart your computer when prompted.
