If you have not already done so, download thVPN client installer from
the links above. A disk image (.dmg) file should download to your Desktop.When
it has finished downloading you may need to double-click on it to mount
the "CiscoVPNClient"
disk image on your Desktop. Open up the disk image and you'll see the "Cisco
VPN Client.mpkg" installer file.
To begin installing the software, double-click the Cisco
VPN Client.mpkg icon.
Select your hard disk's icon and click Continue and then enter the username
and password for an account that has administrative priveleges on your computer.
The VPN client software is installed in the Applications folder
on your hard disk. Drag the VPN application to your Dock so you'll have
an easy to to launch it.
Connect to VPN
Click on the VPN icon in your Dock, or double-click on the VPN icon
in your Applications folder.
Click
the "Connect" button to log in (make sure you're connected
to the Internet first).
When you are connected, the bottom of the VPN client window will display
status - connected to "umdvpn" and you'll see a minutes
and seconds indicator counting up the time you've been connected with
VPN. This also indicates that your VPN connection is active and working.
Do not quit from the VPN application or you will lose your VPN connection
(but still be connected to the Internet non-securely). You can hide the
VPN application if you wish by choosing "Hide
VPN Client"
from the VPN Client menu. TIP:
To
display a smaller VPN window, choose "Simple mode" from the Options menu.
Disconnect
To disconnect, click the Disconnect button and, if you wish, quit
the VPN application.
