- Why are there different site licenses for students and faculty/staff?
- In previous years, the UofM Twin Cities campus had a site license for UofM Twin Cities faculty and staff only; SPSS would not include coordinate campuses in this site license, so UMD negotiated a separate site license for all UMD students, faculty and staff.
- This year, SPSS has agreed to allow all UofMN campuses to be included in one site license, which means a reduced per-license cost for UMD faculty and staff. However, students are not covered by the UofMN site license, so UMD has negotiated with SPSS to keep our UMD student site license. Three collegiate units (CEHSP, CLA and LSBE) have paid for the cost of licenses for all of their undergraduate and graduate students; students in other collegiate units can purchase the site license at a greatly reduced cost ($40).
