Defining a Site
  1. go to the "Site" menu
  2. choose "New Site..." (see "Figure 1: Site Definition for Unnamed Site 2")

  3. click on the "Advanced" tab

The category column is on the left and the choices available for the selected category are on the right. The table below has suggestions for filling in the categories:

Suggested Dreamweaver Site Settings for ~ Accounts (e.g., ~breeves)
Category Settings
Local Info
  1. Site Name: Same name as the "Local Root Folder"
  2. Local Root Folder: Browse to the "C" drive or "Macintosh HD"
    1. create a folder named "DWManagement"
    2. use this folder
      • Windows users: open this folder and click "Select"
      • Mac users: click "Choose"
Remote Info
  1. Access: (default says "none") FTP
  2. FTP Host: www.d.umn.edu
  3. Host Directory: www
  4. Login: your Internet (email) id (e.g., breeves)
  5. check "Use Secure FTP (SFTP)"
