Making and Applying a Library Object

Local events are begging to be Library Objects. The navigational links at the bottom of each page of this workshop web site come from one library object. When I make a change to the library object (cleverly titled "Dreamweaver links") Dreamweaver prompts me to update all affected pages. These pages then need to be uploaded to the web server for the world to see the changes.

Make a Library Object

To see how this is done, open the file "LocalEvent.html" from the example web site folder.

  1. Go to the "File" menu
  2. Choose "Open..."
  3. Locate the example web site folder (ExampleWebSite)
  4. Open ExampleWebSite
  5. Open "docs_for_exercises"
  6. Open the file "LocalEvent.html"
  1. Select the text by dragging your cursor over it
  2. Go to the "Modify" menu
