Mailboxes
Creating New Mailboxes
Look at the Server Window below. The first time you open Mulberry
it will appear similar to this Server window. The mailbox folders
currently displayed under ~/Mail/ are common folders used for
the mail system and not used by individual email accounts.
To create a new mailbox, select ~/Mail/
click
on this with your left mouse button. Click on the Create button
from the Toolbar. Enter the name of the new mailbox. Click on
OK.

Class Exercise: Create the mailbox: Trteam
Notes and select OK. Create another mailbox called Sent and select
OK.
Note the new mailboxes under your Mail account in the Server Window.
If the mailboxes are not indicated under your Mail account, click
on the + or the arrow signs next to the ~/Mail
listing in the Server window. This will display all your mailboxes.

Creating New Folders
To create a new folder, select
by
clicking on this with your left mouse button. Click on Create
from the toolbar. Enter the name of the folder followed by a "/."
If you do not include the "/," you will create another
mailbox. Note: you cannot store mail in a folder, but you may
open new mailboxes under a folder.
Subscribed Mail
"Subscribed" is a Mulberry term to mean your favorite, most important, high priority mailboxes. If you are an individual who has many mailboxes to manage, you might place your top 10 mailboxes here. "Subscribed" mailboxes will appear directly below INBOX in the Server Window. Having a large number of mailboxes limits your viewing capability of all of your mailboxes in the Server Window. Creating subscribed mailboxes for your high priority mail would be the answer. All the mail placed in a mailbox under Subscribed and under Mail will be identical. All mail deleted from a mailbox under Subscribed will also be deleted from the mailbox under Mail.
Class Exercise: Subscribe your Sent and
Trteam Notes mailboxes. Select both Sent and Trteam Notes under
your Mail Account. Click on Sent and then Ctrl (Control) click
on Trteam Notes. Select Mailboxes from the Menu bar and select
Subscribe.

Class Exercise: Select, open and read a message from your
Inbox Window. Now close the message. Selecting the message with
your mouse, drag it to either your Trteam Notes under Subscribed
or under Mail.
As you drag this message to Trteam Notes under
Subscribed or under Mail, you will notice that the message in
the mailbox is now marked for deletion in the Inbox Window. The
number of items in Trteam mailboxes under both Subscribed and
Mail will be shown as "1" if you have just created these
mailboxes.
Double clicking on a mailbox will open it. Displayed below
is the Trteam Notes mailbox that has been opened. Double click
on the message you would like to read.

If you wish to have an email message moved back to your Inbox from a mailbox, you need to open the mailbox by double clicking on that mailbox. Select the email message to be moved and while holding down your left mouse button drag it to the Inbox. It will will sorted according to your chosen sort preference. The default is order received. (If you do not choose otherwise, messages are sorted by when they are received.)
TIP: When you receive an email message that your Mail has been moved, follow the above procedure to retrieve your mail and put it back in your Inbox. You will need to review the contents of the moved mail before moving it back to your Inbox. A large file has caused your mailbox to be moved. Do not move the large file back to your Inbox as it will be moved again to a mailbox as soon as file capacity is reached.
To move mail back to the Inbox, open the mailbox where your email has been moved (identified by date of move ie. 000426), highlight items you want returned to your Inbox, and drag them back.
Delete a Message from your Mailbox
Open your mailbox. Select the message you would like
to delete and click on the delete button located in the header
area.
Expunge Messages
To expunge (remove) a message, select the message by clicking
once on it, click on delete and then click on Expunge.
If you try to quit Mulberry without expunging your messages, Mulberry
will remind you to Expunge.
When you are ready to move on, go to "Managing Messages."
