Review Simple Preferences
Preferences include a number of features. In this exercise, we will work on four features:
- Checking for new mail
- Setting a new mail alert
- Changing a signature
- Copying outgoing mail

Check for New Mail: This may be changed to the time in minutes you desire. Click on the number of minutes displayed and enter the number in minutes that you want mail sent to your mailbox.
Class Exercise: Change checking for new mail time to 3 minutes.
Setting a new mail Alert: Selecting this box will
display a foreground alert text box announcing that new mail has
arrived for you. This alert will only display if you are currently
using Mulberry.
Class Exercise: Check the "Use Alert" box now.

Class Exercise: Change the signature information
displayed above by highlighting the text and entering your own
informational data. Click on OK.
(To highlight the text, holding down the left mouse
button, drag the cursor over the text to be deleted. Then release
the mouse button and press the delete button on your keyboard.)

The signature information will be displayed at the end of your
email messages that you send.
Note: If you use Mulberry for email, both on a PC and a
Mac, you will need to set the preferences in both applications,
including the preferences for your signature.
Class Exercise: Check the Outgoing Message
box and type Inbox or browse and select Inbox.
Selecting Inbox is the same as carbon copying yourself
and the message will be sent back to you. (Inbox is the mailbox
selected for this exercise, because it is the only common mailbox
that everyone would have in order to try this feature out.) A
mailbox must be created before you can enter it as a default mailbox.
When you are ready, move to "Mailboxes."
