Detailed instructions for Exercise 3

Sample Text (Your text in the word processor document should now look like this.)

Here is some sample text with three paragraphs. This is paragraph 1.

Here is paragraph 3, which will be paragraph 2 when we complete our exercise.

Here is paragraph 2, which will be paragraph 3 when we complete our exercise.

Copy and Paste from a web page to your word processor document

1. Open a web browser to the UMD Home page.
2. Navigate to Campus Life, then UMD Traditions.
3. Copy the paragraph on the UMD Mascot from the web page using your web browser's copy command
4. In the word processor, move your cursor to the end of paragraph 3 and hit enter to get to a new line.
5. Paste, using the word processor paste command.
6. Use other editing commands in the word processor, if necessary, to make your new fourth paragraph look right.
