Almost all computer applications have a built-in help function that allows you to find instructions about how to do something in the application. If you have an idea about what you want to do, you can check the help function for more information.
Most help functions have several ways in which you can look for information. Looking at contents will give you a view like the table of contents in a book. Looking at index will give you a view like the index in a book. Looking at find or search will allow you to insert a word or phrase that describes the function you are seeking.
Many of us develop ways of using the help function that works best with our particular ways of thinking. I usually start with the contents, because I like to see the big picture first before I start looking for detailed information. Other people head first for search, because they want a fast answer and feel confident that they can guess the right word or phrase to take them to the information they seek. As you do exercise 1, try more than one approach, and think about which one works best for you.
Open your favorite word processor and use the help function to find out how to copy and paste.
