Creating a Page
If the first page you see when you connect to your "tilde" site is an empty directory, don't panic! You can still follow the instructions below to start a new page.
To create a new page in your site:
- Make sure you are at your site and have a connection established (see instructions for creating a connection, if necessary)
- Click the "New Page" button
- In the "New Page" dialog box, choose what type of page you want to
create. Depending upon your site's complexity, you may have only some
of these choices:
- Blank Web Page - basically a blank sheet to start from
- Sample Web Page - choose from one of sample pages that come installed with Contribute
- Templates - if you have a pre-existing site, you may have Dreamweaver templates
- Enter a title for the page. This title is NOT the file name. It appears in the title bar of the web page and is used when people create a bookmark to your site or make it one of their favorites. It may contain spaces
- Click the "OK" button
