Table Practice Exercise

Using what you know about creating tables, create the following example, coming as close to the final appearance of the example as possible. You might need to do some exploring. Remember that you can undo changes, revert to saved copies, and even roll back to previously published versions if your experiements take you down the "wrong" path.

Note: you do not need to complete the entire table - but you might want to keep it as a reminder!

Field in the Wizard What It Is What to Answer
What is your name? If you work with another person on these web pages, the answer to this question lets them know who has a page checked out. Your name as you want other people to see it.
What is your e-mail address? If you work with another person on a web page, this is the email address that you want them to use to email you to remind you to check the file back in. Your email address, including the part after the "@" sign (the domain)
What is the web address (URL) of your website? This allows Contribute to find the main page of the site you want to edit. Type in the full web address (URL) of the first page of the site, or use the browse button to find it using a web browser type interface.
How do you connect to your web server? This is the type of connection between your computer and the webserver that allows files to be copied between them. FTP
What is the name of your webserver? This is the name of the server as recognized by every computer connected to the world wide web www.d.umn.edu
What is the FTP login? This is the login ID that allows you to copy files to and from this location on the webserver. Your x.500 user ID (such as bjohnson). This is usually the same as your official UMD email ID (without the "@" sign).
What is the FTP password This is the associated password for that login. Your x.500 user login. This is also usually the same as your email password.
What group do you belong to? This allows Contribute to determine what settings to use for you. Usually, if you are setting up a connection, you will be in the Administrator group.
