Adding Images

To add an image to a page, you first need to be in editing mode. If you are not in editing mode, click the "Edit Page" button to begin the process.

There are three ways to add an image to your web page:

  • Use the Select Image iconimage icon to insert images from your computer or website.
  • Drag images from your desktop, web browser, or an application to your Contribute draft.
  • Copy and paste images from your desktop, web browser, or an   application to your Contribute draft.

To add an image using the Select Image Iconimage icon:

  1. Position your cursor where you want the image to be
  2. Click the "Image" button
  3. Choose where the image will come from:
    • The computer's files
    • From your website files
  4. Browse to the file location. Note: when using Contribute, you do not have to worry about keeping all of your website files together
  5. When you have found the file you want, choose it by clicking on it
  6. Click the "Select" button
  7. If you have accessibility enforcement enabled, you will be prompted to supply a description (i.e. "alt tag") for the image. This allows anyone using a screen reader to access this information about your image

To adjust image settings:

  1. Click on the image to select it
  2. From the menu bar, choose "Format"
  3. From the format menu, choose "Image Properties"
  4. Make your changes
  5. Click the "OK" button

Wrap Text around an Image:

  1. In your draft, double-click the image. The Image Properties dialog box will appear.
  2. In the Alignment pop-up menu, select an alignment for the image. The small graphic on the right of your pop-up menu will show you how the image aligns will look in relation to text.
  3. Select Apply and then Select OK.
