Granting Access to TAs, Co-Instructors, and Others

You may grant access to your eGradebook to teaching assistants, co-instructors, and staff members such as Spring Billiar to help with grade-keeping chores.

For stepwise instructions, please see the Help section on Access Rights.

General Recommendations

If you use Scantron (the automatic scoring system), and you want Spring Billiar to be allowed to import the scores for these tests into your eGradebook, you must first grant Spring the access rights at "Owner-Designate" level. This allows her to create an assignment within eGradebook if one does not exist and upload the scores for the assignment.

If you co-teach with another instructor, you may assign that other instructor "Owner-Designate" rights. If that is not a sufficiently high level (it usually is, but you might want to allow the other instructor to make configuration changes, for instance), please contact the eGradebook system administrators (Barbara Johnson and Bruce Reeves). They can add owners to eGradebooks.

The major difference between a TA-owner and a TA-grader is that a TA-owner can add categories and assignments as well as scores. A TA-grader is restricted to entering scores.
