The intent behind the project was to take the best features of the two major gradebook programs currently in use: the UNIX Gradebook and Gradekeeper and extend functionality to meet the needs of UMD's faculty and students. In particular, we wanted a product that:
We also aimed to create a product that was as easy to learn as possible, recognizing that what is "intuitive" to one person might not make sense to another. The ease with which you learn this program will depend in large part upon what other software you have used in the past and how you prefer to calculate your grades.
Also, please recognize that this is a new program, and things do not always work perfectly. If something does not make sense, please do inform us at: bjohnson@d.umn.edu or breeves@d.umn.edu - don't assume that you have done something wrong!
