Entering Scores
The scores section is where you:
- Enter scores per assignment for each student, whether numeric or letter-grade
- Edit scores
- May activate an assignment
- May override the overall grade calculated by eGradebook
To enter scores for an assignment, follow the step-wise instructions in the
Help
section on Scores.
There are actually two routes you can take to enter scores:
- Enter scores immediately after creating the assignment, which gives you
a limited view of the scores page, containing only the current assignment
- Enter scores on the scores page, which will show all assignments at the
same time
Coping with many assignments (tips)
Your eGradebooks will get too wide for display on one page as you add assignments,
and we recognize that scrolling to the right can become frustrating. Look at
one or more of these options:
- Use the sorting options (available on the Configure
page - instructor view) to position the assignment you want to score closer
to the left. The "reverse chronological" option was created for
this purpose, but the saved ordering option might work better for you
- Edit the assignment and select the option "Edit scores after update",
which allows you to enter scores on a view with that assignment only
- Use the tool tips - if you pause your cursor over a score field, in many
browsers, a note appears indicating which student and which assignment you
are at
