Webdrop 2.0

Check Upload Attempts

You can check to see how many times a particular student has uploaded a file with the same name. This could indicate that a revision to the original file was uploaded, using the same file name. Or it could indicate that the student is having trouble uploading files and is not sure that the first attempt was successful.

If a file has been uploaded multiple times, the most recent copy is available for download by the faculty member or teaching assistant.

To check the number of upload attempts for a file by a student:

  1. If you have not done so already, access the webdrop program at: https://webdrop.d.umn.edu. You will need to authenticate using your x.500 username and password
  2. Click the link "Manage Available course folders"
  3. Choose the appropriate course by clicking the radio button to the left of the course identifier
  4. Click the "Open Course Folder" button
  5. Select the option "Show Upload Attempts/Document Versions" by clicking on the radio button to the left of the option
  6. Click the "Submit" button
  7. You will see a table listing the files dropped by each student and the number of attempts
