CGI's Available for use at UMD

These CGI's are available for use to any department, organization, or individual with a web page at UMD. You may still use any other CGI programs by placing them in your own web storage area. If you are intending to gather sensitive information such as credit card or social security numbers, do not use these CGI's. Those types of transactions should be done with a secured web form, see the E-commerce information. The list below provides links to information on how to use each CGI.

Email data from a web form

Generic Mail: This CGI will email data from a web form to a specified recipient. You can also specify required fields and customize the format of the resulting email.

Count the hits on your web page

Counter: This CGI will count all of the hits to your web page.
counter: This CGI will count only the non-UMD hits to your web page.

Add a search box to your web page

Search: You can easily add a search box to your web pages and even restrict it to just your area if you want to.
