Using SFTP in Dreamweaver CS5

  1. In the editing screen, click on "Site" and choose "Manage Sites..."


  2. With your site selected, click on "Edit..."
  3. Click on "Servers".
  4. If the "Connection" setting is "FTP", go on to step 5.
        If "SFTP" is already selected, click on the "Cancel" button, and skip down to step 9.
  5. Double-click on the existing server entry. (In the example below, the server entry is named "UMD".
        The server entry in your display will most likely have its own name.
  6. After double-clicking on the server entry (above), the Servers panel appears.
        Click on the down-arrow at the right of the "Connect using:" setting.
  7. A drop-down menu appears. Click on "SFTP" to change the "Conect using:" setting to "SFTP".
  8. With "SFTP" selected, click on the "Save" button.

  9. Click on the "Done" button.
