community internships

The Office of Civic Engagement will place you in an internship in the Duluth community. To earn the UMD Leadership Certificate, we ask that you complete 250 volunteer or internship or volunteer hours.

Students benefit by gaining experience, connections, relationships, and hopefully "real life" leadership opportunities in the community. You are able to apply the leadership theories you have studied in class to actual situations.

You will document each 50 hour segment of your experience in your Leadership Portfolio
