    • An interest in the philosophy or mission of the group
  • Skills learned in the organization
    • A desire to be with people whose abilities are greater than or equal to their own
    • The development of leadership, management, organizational, and life skills
  • Opportunities available in the organization
    • Networking within a profession
    • Internships available within a profession
    • Resume enhancement
  • People in the organization
    • The attraction may be a function of attitude, belief, personality, race, sex or economic similarity
  • Activities of the organization
    • An interest in what the group does, especially socially
  • Affiliation with the organization
