ePortfolio

ePortfolio is a secure web site at the University of Minnesota (U of M) for entering, saving, organizing, viewing, and selectively sharing personal educational records. Introduced by the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1995 and built by the U of M Enterprise Web Development Team, portfolio users may store up to 5 GB in their Portfolio accounts, and may use the Portfolio account while enrolled, and for life following graduation from the University of Minnesota system.

U of M students, faculty, and staff may use Portfolio to:

  • Enter and view personal educational records
  • Share selected Portfolio elements with one or more individuals
  • View other people's Portfolios to which access has been granted

    project status

    ePortfolio is an evolving technology. Recent milestones in its evolution include:

    September 2007

    ePortfolio 5.1 goes live. New features include greater speed, keywords and tags, quickshare, presentation template options, and public presentation.

    January 2008

    Open Source ePortfolio (OSeP) is released! The code may be downloaded from the OSeP wiki.

    February 2008

    New features added to ePortfolio 5.1 include the Portico (the new desktop widget for quickly uploading multiple files to ePortfolio) and Download Presentations (save your ePortfolio presentations to a desktop, cd, or print as a PDF).

    2008 - 2009

    ePortfolio 6.0 is being built to have a modern user interface, and to be useful for individual and program assessment.
