Reference Collection

The Reference Collection consists of non-circulating materials that are meant to be used for finding answers to specific informational questions and for gaining basic background knowledge of a subject. Included in the Reference Collection are subject-specific encyclopedias and dictionaries, handbooks that compile basic research, directories, compilations of statistical information, and a variety of other types of sources. The collection has printed books, printed maps, and online resources. The printed reference books are located on the second floor, behind the reference desk. The maps are located adjacent to the reference desk. The Reference Collection supports the UMD Library's Reference Services.
