Teaching Materials Collection

The Teaching Materials Collection contains materials for teachers from preschool through high school. This collection is located on the second floorPDF     of the library. A separate holdings list, kept near the vertical files in the Teaching Materials Collection, shows the materials that are available. The vertical files contain guides, units, publisher catalogs, pamphlets, and tests. The materials are arranged in broad subject areas.

The shelving units in the Teaching Materials Collection contain reference materials, children's encyclopedias, kits, elementary and secondary textbooks, and High Interest/Low Vocabulary books. Publishers donate most of the kits and textbooks. Only ephemeral materials are kept in the Teaching Materials Collection. Most of the books are cataloged and shelved with the Library of Congress General Book Collection. The library purchases the ERIC ED microfiche documents, and they are available in the microform area.
