Access to Computers in the Library

Students, Faculty and Staff:

Computer stations are located on each floor of the library and with few exceptions require authentication. Use your internet ID and password to access them. Windows PCs are located on the second and third floors. Several MACs are located on the third floor. Sunrays, Unix terminals with a Windows type interface, are located on all the first, third and fourth floors.

If you are a UMD student, staff or faculty member and have problems logging in, please see the lab attendant in L118 or L119 for assistance, or call the ITSS help desk at 726-8847.

Community Users:

A limited number of computers are configured and labeled for community users as well as students, on a first come first served basis. On the first and second floors of the library Windows PCs are available to the public during nonpeak times. Please look for the signage: Guest Computer. During high-use times, community users may be asked to relinquish these computers in favor of student users. On the first, third, and fourth floors of the library there are kiosk machines available for connecting to the internet.
