Linking to Electronic Reserve Items

It is possible to link directly to articles and chapters on electronic reserve. There are two methods for doing it.

The first method is to look up the item in the reserve catalog, and copy the URL that you see next to the "Click Here" button in the "Internet Access" line.

The second method is more complicated, but can be used when you are still waiting for your electronic reserve item to be processed and to show up in the catalog. For this method, please follow the instructions at this page created by the reserve processing team.

If you want to direct students to an electronic reserve item on a printed handout, please give these step by step instructions rather than a long link:

1. Go to the library website: http://www.d.umn.edu/lib/
2. Follow the link at the top that says "Reserve"
3. Search for a list of items using an appropriate field ("Instructor Name" works well)
4. Find the desired item on the list (may require advancing to a further page on the list)
5. For an electronic item, the "Click Here" link should bring up the actual document
