ABSTRACT SUMMARY OF COLLECTION
Autobiography and family history of Clifford H. Broad. Mr. Broad’s parents moved to Duluth in 1880. Mr. Broad was born in Duluth in 1892. In 1915, at the age of 23, Clifford Broad left Duluth for Detroit, Michigan where he began a career in accounting. Mr. Broad has since retired to St. Petersburg, Florida. This manuscript deals with Broad’s family and personal experiences in growing up in Duluth. Manuscript also includes, “The Thompson Family,” by Robert B. Thompson which is 7 pages in length. “The Thompson Family” is a history of Theodore Andreas Thompson, a laborer, who was born in 1867 in Norway and who moved to Duluth in 1888. The history discusses the fortune of Theodore Thompson and his family in relation to Norwegian emigration.
