ABSTRACT SUMMARY OF COLLECTION

A graduate of Michigan Tech, Houghton, Michigan, E. Judson Bentley was hired in 1951 for taconite development on the Oglebay-Norton Reserve Mining properties. He retired from the company in 1975.

The collection consists of chronologies and histories of Silver Bay and Babbitt Minnesota and the Reserve Mining Company of Silver Bay; photographs of the two towns (1952-1962), and a small amount of correspondence between Mr. Bentley and the director of the St. Louis County Historical Society regarding the donation of these materials and Mr. Bentley's career.
