Browsing the library stacks can be a great way to make new discoveries.
The UMD library is organized according to the Library of Congress Classification System, which uses alphabetic codes to divide the collection by subject. The " D " class is where European History is located, with Spanish and Portuguese History in " DP. " Latin American History is found in F 1201 through F 3799. Those books are all located on the 3rd floor of the library. The " P " class is devoted to Language and Literature, and those books are on the 4th floor.
Books on the Spanish Language are found in PC 4001 through PC 4977.
