Street Fight. (2005). Bullfrog. 1 videodisc 82 minutes. Follows the bare-knuckles race for Mayor of Newark, N.J. between 32 year-old Cory Booker and four-term incumbent Sharpe James, the undisputed champion of New Jersey politics. Fought in Newark’s neighborhoods and housing projects, the battle pits the young challenger against an old style political machine that uses any means necessary, including harraassment and police intimidation, to crush its opponents. Violence Against Women. Films for the Humanities & Sciences, 1997. 1 videocassette 46 minutes. The secrecy surrounding domestic violence is the focus of the program. Reclaiming Youth at Risk: Our Hope for the Future. National Educational Service, 1996. 3 videocassettes 63 minutes. Based on the book by the same title, this video series shows how the authors, Larry Brendtro, Martin Brokenleg, and Steve Van Bockern have combined principles of Western psychology and Native American philosophy to create a strategy for helping youth. Underground. Terra Nova Films, 1994. 1 videocassette 12 minutes. An exhibit, consisting of a railroad track, with a poem begun carved into the first tie and continued in each succeeding tie, leading of a telephone booth, and junked automobiles with messages printed on them, in a park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, dramatizing the matter of abuse to women by their (male) partners. Also included are television interviews with women who freed themselves from abusive relationships, and comments about the exhibit. VC 3287

Discusses what can be done to end the epidemic of domestic abuse from medical, legal, psychological and law enforcement perspectives. End of the Road. Educational Video Network, 1993. 1 videocassette 28 minutes. Documentary dealing with the horrors of drug addiction, as drug addicts on the streets of Brooklyn, N.Y. tell their stories. VC 2762

I'm You, You're Me: Women Surviving Prison, Living with AIDS. Women Make Movies, 1993. 1 videocassette 26 minutes. Presents an overview of the AIDs support and educational program run by the inmates at the Bedford Hills Maximum Security Prison, New York. The inmates talk about their need to understand the disease and its effects on their physical, social and legal status (as inmates, mothers, etc.). We see the prison group supplying these answers and providing support and encouragement to the individuals. VC 2279

Secret Addictions: Women, Drugs & Alcohol. MTI Film & Video, 1991. 1 videocassette 35 minutes. In every socioeconomic class, there are women who are addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. What they have in common is a tendency to hide their addictions, for reasons that range from personal to social. In this video some of these women tell their stories. A Nation of Law? (1968-1971). PBS Video, 1989. 1 videocassette 60 minutes. This video examines the government's response to dissent from the Black Panther Party in Chicago and rebelling inmates at Attica Correctional Facility between 1968 and 1971. Chronicles the FBI's covert program to disrupt and neutralize selected black organizations and explores the call for "law and order" as a campaign issue and as government policy. Documents the activities of an FBI informant in infiltrating the Black Panther Party. VC 1590

Dan Rather and the CBS news team spend forty-eight hours on the streets filming and interviewing drug dealers and users of crack, a street form of cocaine coming into common use. The program examines the dangers of cocaine/crack addiction and the impact of the drug trade on this country. VC 899
