Stress-less Week in the Library

December 7-11, 2015

Stress-less Week, the library's popular series of events designed to help students relieve stress before finals week, will return this December. Events take place the week of December 7-11 and are free for all UMD students! This semester's lineup includes:


Coffee with Champ


December 7, 8:30-10:00am, Library entrance 
Get an early start on your studies by joining Champ for free coffee!



Massage & Blood Pressure Checks

monday & Tuesday

December 7, 1:00-3:00pm*, Library 2nd floor

December 8, 11:00am-1:00pm, Library 2nd floor
Unwind with a chair massage from RSOP's Nancy Schwerdt! UMD Health Services interns will also be on hand to check students' blood pressure and educate about the factors that influence blood pressure.

*blood pressure check from 1:00-2:00pm only

December 8, 8:00pm, Spin Room (RSOP Fitness Center Room 135)
Take a yoga break with the UMD Yoga Club and enter a raffle to win a free yoga mat! No previous yoga experience necessary, mats provided.

W.A.R.M. (Wednesday Afternoon Relaxation & Meditation)


December 9, 12:00-1:00pm, Kirby Student Center 361
Drop in stress reduction session for students. Learn and practice a new technique in a comfortable and casual environment. Tea and snacks provided! Sponsored by UMD Health Services.

Some of the zoo's smallest and cutest animals will provide a welcome distraction from studying.




Pet Away Worry & Stress (PAWS)


December 10, 11:00am–1:00pm, Kirby Lounge
Stop by and stress less with some lovable canines, cats and miniature horses! Representatives from Humane Educators and Animal Allies will be on campus with animals to play with, hold, and pet! Sponsored by Animal Allies, KUMD, Kathryn A. Martin Library, UMD Employee Wellness and Health Services. Volunteer support provided by SERVE.


Make Your Own Stress Ball

Make your own stress ball! Sponsored by UMD Health Services.


Coffee with Champ

Find that second wind after your week of dedicated studying. Champ will return to the library entrance to help distribute free coffee.

All week on the library 1st floor:

Board games and coloring: Take a break with a board game or some crayons!

Arts and crafts: Make a snowflake!
