UMD Library Student Video Contest
Information for Student Filmmakers
The deadline for submitting your videos is November 27, 2007. Videos
should be submitted at the Reference
Desk in the UMD Library, by 9pm on the 27th.
Please submit them with this
submission form.
The Prizes in the UMD Library Video Contest are in four categories:
- Best overall ($300 UMD Stores gift card)
- Best promotional video for the library ($100 UMD Stores gift card)
- Best instructional video ($100 UMD Stores gift card)
- Most entertaining ($100 UMD Stores gift card)
- Plus one random giveaway of an iPod shuffle to an entrant
The rules are as follows:
Videos have to be:
About the library somehow, and set in the library
Under seven minutes in length
Compliant with copyright
law and university policies
Entirely student produced (i.e. no professional editors, etc.)
You may submit more than one video
Need ideas? Here are some suggested themes:
How to do something in the library or where things are (resources)
Advertisement for the library
Movie trailer
Pilot for a sitcom
How the UMD Library changed my life
How I found love at the UMD Library
Dream that takes place in the library
Supernatural mystery of the library
etc.
The prizes will be awarded at the video showing, on Thursday, December 13 in the Library 4th floor Rotunda. The showing will start at 7pm.
