Widgets and Tools
What is a widget?
A widget is something you can add to a web page or install into your web browser to integrate it with something else that's out on the internet, often in a customized way. One common example would be those boxes that people add to their blogs that show the weather in their home locations. Widgets such as this allow a person to add a snippet of code to her own website that interfaces with another website. Our widgets are designed to make it easy to connect your students to the resources in our library, whether through your course websites or WebCT and Moodle. The links below lead to pages where you can see what these widgets look like, try them out, customize them, and generate the code you need to insert them into your web pages. In addition, you will find some browser add-ons that make using the UMD Library more convenient.
