IDEAL and East African Data

• The University of Maryland, NASA and the USDA have worked together to create a website compiling lake heights from around the world determined by satellite radar altimetry. The Global Reservoir and Lake Monitor can be found at: http://www.pecad.fas.usda.gov/cropexplorer/global_reservoir/.
  
  
• A large amount of geologic data can be found at NOAA's National Geophysical Data Center. Some paleolimnology data can be found on the site's Paleoclimatology Web page, although paleolimnology data can also be found in the Marine Geology and Geophysics Program.
  
  
• Percent Biogenic Silica and ¹⁴C dates for piston cores 1P, 2P, 3P, 6P, and 7P, collected from Lake Victoria in 1995, are available from NOAA's National Geophysical Data Center.
  
  The data can be downloaded from http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/mgg/geology/llo.html.
  
  
• The isotopic composition of precipitation (both oxygen and deuterium) from stations in East Africa can be downloaded from the Global Network for Isotopes in Precipitation. GNIP is run by the International Atomic Energy Agency and the World Meteorological Organization.
  
  East African precipitation stations can be found by searching the GNIP database.
