Physical Limnology Laboratory
Studies of physical limnology at LLO rely heavily on equipment aboard the R/V Blue Heron and R/V Noodin, in particular, the RD Instruments hull-mounted 150 kHz ADCP, SeaBird 911+ and 19 CTD profilers, and Triaxus towed vehicle with on-board CTD instrumentation. In addition, two microstructure turbulence profilers are available for use at LLO: a Precision Measurement Engineering SCAMP temperature microstructure profiler and an ISW Wassermesstechnik MSS velocity microstructure profiler. Several work stations running Windows and Linux operating systems are available for data analysis and numerical modeling.
