- Paleoclimate records preserved in lake sediments and development of new climate proxies for paleolimnology.
- Biogeochemistry of trace metals and nutrients in lakes.
- Use of cosmogenic nuclides for quantitative examination of surface processes including erosion, landscape evolution, glacial history and neotectonics.
