| "I spent much of my childhood in a university setting. It was magical to me and still is. Now, I try to impart that sense of curiosity to my students—to get them to ask why. To me, that’s the most beautiful, most important question in the world".

Thank you for the work you do, making a difference in the lives of students, and making UMD a fine university. You are cordially invited to participate in the 2007-2008 UMD Faculty and Staff Campaign by making a gift dedicated to the purpose or unit of your choice. It really doesn't matter which cause or activity you choose to support; everything we do here is important, and everything contributes to the growing excellence and reputation of our university.
The UMD Faculty and Staff Campaign offers a unique opportunity to provide new support for LSBE students. Last summer, Chancellor Martin announced the UMD Reaching Higher Scholarship Initiative. Scholarships are more important than ever in determining a student’s choice of a college or university. The Reaching Higher Scholarship Initiative promises that the payout on all new scholarships of $10,000 or more will be matched by UMD. Your gift can be paid over a three-to-five year pledge period.
The second opportunity to provide vital support for LSBE students, faculty and staff is through participating in the Continuous Improvement Endowment Fund Initiative. Interest from this fund will be used to promote excellence in teaching, research and outreach at LSBE. Our goal is to create a resource base that in the years to come will give us the capacity to add greater depth to our extraordinary programs, and permit us to respond to the needs of our learning community and profession. With a gift of $2,500, $5,000 or $10,000 spread over a three to five-year pledge period, you receive the satisfaction of contributing to the ongoing success and future of LSBE and your name will be inscribed on a permanent donor recognition wall in the new LSBE building.
No matter the ultimate use of your gift, your gift will show donors, students and legislators that we, the faculty and staff of the Labovitz School of Business and Economics, are the first to step up to the plate in support of our University. More important, your gift will symbolize your belief and trust in the role that LSBE plays in educating the next generation of educated and productive citizens.
Please join us as we help build a stronger School and University. Let’s have a great campaign!
With our best regards,
2007-2008 UMD Faculty and Staff Campaign Committee
