economics

Economists study social, business, and individual decision-making habits, as well as the goals, incentives, and constraints affecting those decisions. What they discover—and what they decide—can quite literally change the world.

At LSBE, you will study the same things and learn how society distributes resources like land, labor, raw material, and machinery. You will also determine how to evaluate what society produces from these resources.

You will have the opportunity to work with faculty to conduct research, collect and analyze data, monitor economic trends, and develop forecasts.

To help you develop these necessary skills, the Department of Economics curriculum combines classical liberal arts education and modern quantitative approaches.
