Overview

The main goal of the LSBE Financial Markets Program is to provide students with an educational experience directly applicable to the Financial Services Industry.

The foundation of this experience is rooted in its experiential focus and is a product of the tremendous support we receive from the local financial community. Students selected to participate are given the opportunity to directly apply learned ideas, theories, and tools. The uniqueness of our academic approach has demonstrated its value by helping better prepare our students to make an immediate impact in their careers.

The LSBE Financial Markets Program rests on three pillars of support: Academic Studies, the Wells Fargo Financial Markets Lab, and Bulldog Fund, LLC.

Academic studies are the core to advancing knowledge. Our program fosters an environment of “non-traditional” learning, encouraging students to develop and apply their critical thinking skills daily. Investment research and analysis is centered upon a blend of fundamental, technical and quantitative analysis. Our process strongly encourages participants to develop their own “style” in analyzing markets.

Key to our advancement is experiential learning opportunities. The Bulldog Fund, LLC challenges students to make strategic investment decisions applicable to the fund’s investment strategy, an enhanced S&P 500 approach utilizing a “portable alpha” component.

Real knowledge is gained through application. The research, analysis and management of the fund is conducted in the Wells Fargo Financial Markets Lab. Skills gained from the experience form basis of a sound decision making and success; not only for today, but throughout their careers
