Are you looking for an exciting, challenging career with great job prospects?
You've come to the right place!
Due to expected growth in the number of EHS jobs coupled with a high rate of retirements within the field, the United States is facing a severe shortage of EHS professionals in the next 5 years and possibly beyond (NIOSH, 2011). Also, consider that a 2010 job market survey ranked EHS in the top 10 in terms of job growth (#8) and in the top 25 in terms of job satisfaction (#22). Regionally, almost 95% of all graduates from the MEHS program have able to find EHS jobs within 6 months of their graduation over the past several years.
Want more information about the EHS profession?
The American Society of Safety Engineers is one of the professional societies to which EHS professionals belong. To learn more about the profession, check out their informative career guide for the EHS profession. Or, peruse the ASSE newsroom and, among other things, check out the video on the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, which provided the impetus for improvements in workplace safety over the past 100 years. Other EHS related websites to explore can be found on our program website under "resources" - in particular, the links under "professional societies" and "other resources" may be most useful.
