![]() What is the Multicultural Living Community? This is a great opportunity for any freshmen student to join a community of students who are interested in engaging in cross-cultural dialogues and self-awareness. Students who are chosen for this living/learning community will engage in opportunities to explore complex issues of identity, gender and ethnicity, and will reach into and beyond their own cultural backgrounds and learn about the experiences of others.
Who should apply?Anyone with interests in the wide diversity of people who make up our school, state, and world! This is a particularly ideal learning community for students considering majors in international studies, education, cultural studies, a foreign language, American Indian Studies, African American Studies, business, or those considering studying abroad.
What’s involved?Students in the Multicultural Learning Community will be provided opportunities to attend programs and activities, during fall and spring semesters. Community building and leadership opportunities are important aspects of the MLC experience. These shared experiences will bring the community together, foster friendship and support, promote understanding and educate us all about the successes and challenges of a multicultural learning community.
