The Mission of the North Star STEM program is to double the number of Minnesota’s African-American, Hispanic/Latino, and Native American students receiving bachelor's degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This program is a part of the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation, a program of the National Science Foundation. With support through various opportunities and services here at the University of Minnesota Duluth, we hope to increase the number of our own graduates in these fields.
Here at UMD our STEM Services include the following during the Fall and Spring Semesters:
* Peer – to – Peer Tutoring
* Group Study Sessions
*Opportunities to attend Seminars, Conferences, and workshops
To participate you must be an underrepresented student of African-American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, Alaska Native and Pacific Islander background and be pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
