To assist and encourage academic laurel, cultural awareness, and socialization of African-American students on the University of Minnesota campus.

                         Our Goals                             

  • To Address those issues that continually come against students of Afro and African American descent.
  • To promote an evironment of peace, love, unity, and respect among everyone.
  • To assist in promoting pluralism and understanding among all.
  • To encourage social and cultural development of students of African/African American descent.
  • To unite students of African, African American, and Caribbean descent.
  • To serve as a link to the greater Black community in Duluth and surrounding areas.
  • To incrase awareness and appreciation for Black History through educational, cultural, and social programming.
  • To work as a unjified force toward enhancing the conditions and environment for Black students on campus.
  • To serve as a support network for each other.

Where to find us...

All students who are interested in becoming members in the Black Student Association are welcome to join.  The BSA occupies a cubical in the Multicultural Center that is located at 270 Kirby Student Center.  This room houses cultural artifacts and literature and is also used as a meeting place, hang out spot and a place to study.
