This page is dedicated to parents of UMD college students who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual and/or trangender.

You may be the parent of a son or daughter who has recently "come out" to you, or has discussed their sexual orientation or gender identity with you.

There are many things parents can do to be supportive and many things you can do that may be harmful. Therefore, we have posted links to several excellent resources on the web.

Keep an open mind when learning about sexual orientation and gender identity.
