STUDENT ADVISING

So you arrive at UMD, and you are assigned an advisor. You're a member of the GLBT and./or allied community and you want to discuss more than your grades, perhaps get a referral somewhere, or find out what support services are available.

Think about it, we don't know here in GLBT Services, who you are unless you tell us. We are a largely invisible population on campus and wish to connect with you.

If you would like to be tracked and receive additional support academically through this office, it is part of our "Academic Success" program. To join, simply make an appointment (email works best), and I will meet with you 1:1 for an initial meeting as brief as you like. To track you, I will need your name and your student ID number with your permission. Also, feel free to meet with Natalie Klueg, peer advisor to students.

I look forward to meeting you!

Cordially,

Angela Nichols, Director

GLBT Services, UMD
