The Multicultural Center houses several Student Organizations that have an interest in impacting the world around them. Everyone is welcome to join! Access for AllDevelops a coalition of students with and without disabilities to promote disability awareness on campus and around the community and creates social network and leadership opportunities for students with disabilities. Asian / Pacific American AssociationProvides an environment for social and educational interaction where students can get involved, interact, and foster leadership development among the various groups of Asian Americans and the greater Duluth community. Black Student AssociationUnites students of African, African American, and Caribbean descent and serves as a link to the greater Black community in Duluth and surrounding areas. Increases awareness and appreciation for Black history and works as a unified force toward enhancing the conditions and environment for Black students on campus. International ClubStrengthens the friendships between students from the United States and international students, promotes international relations, and exposes students to a wealth of culture. Latino/Chicano Student AssociationPromotes the Latino/Chicano culture at UMD and in the community. Uniting people with Latino/Chicano heritage, it provides the opportunity for social and cultural interaction. Queer and Allied Students UnionCelebrates the diversity and culture of the queer community, educates the campus community on issues pertinent to the lives of queer students, empowers queer individuals and organizations, and advocates for inclusion and equity of all persons regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression. Women's Resource and Action CenterSeeks to provide all women at UMD support and encouragement and works to empower women, both individually and collectively, through the provision of a wide variety of services and resources. SERVE (Students Engaged in Rewarding Volunteer Experiences)Maintains volunteer contacts throughout Duluth and serves as a bridge between students and the community. MPIRG (Minnesota Public Interest Research GroupGrassroots, nonpartisan, nonprofit, student-directed organization that empowers and trains students and engages the community to take collective action in the public interest throughout the state of Minnesota. |
