Symphony Orchestra

Professor Rudy Perrault is the director of the Symphony Orchestra at UMD. The orchestra performs major symphonic works and UMD Music faculty perform with the students, instructing them in professional orchestral playing as a part of their training at the University. The Symphony Orchestra prepares three concerts each year. One concert every other year is dedicated to choral and orchestral repertoire. Members of the orchestra must audition for positions in the orchestra. Music majors and university students at large are welcome to perform in the UMD orchestra. Advanced technical skills are needed to play in this orchestra.
