Five residence halls:
This means you've got choices. And with UMD’s campus-wide indoor concourse system, you can wear flip-flops and shorts when visiting friends in other residence halls no matter what the outside weather. Freshmen find residence halls the perfect place to connect with friends and classmates.

Four on-campus apartment buildings:
Each furnished, four-person apartment is equipped with two bedrooms and a kitchen, living room, bathroom and dining room.

Cars:
If you’re planning to bring your wheels, you can add an on-campus parking permit to your housing account. You’ll get more details about how to secure your permit when you’ve been assigned to a residence hall or apartment. Duluth also has great public transportation, which is free with your student ID. Looking for a trip to the Twin Cities? An affordable shuttle leaves daily right from UMD.

Food:
You’ll have three meal options to choose from – 19, 14 or 10 meals per week. Plus, UMD’s on-campus apartments are equipped with a kitchen, giving you total culinary freedom (trust us, you can do better than ramen).
