NATSRL: Research Projects

The main goal of the NATSRL research program is to develop Innovative Intelligent Transportation Systems technologies with the high possibility of implementation.

Regular research projects at NATSRL are developed through an annual Request for Proposals process, where representatives from local and out-of-state agencies actively participate in reviewing and selecting the proposals. Further, a small number of seed research projects that break new ground or explore out-of-box concepts can be developed year round.

Eligibility for NATSRL Funding

The person submitting a research proposal for NATSRL must be an employee of the University of Minnesota Duluth and eligible for Principle Investigator status as defined by the University of Minnesota Board of Regents Policy "Principle Investigator Eligibility on Sponsored Projects".

Research Areas for NATSRL

The proposals for NATSRL must address one or more of the NATSRL research focus areas. Some potential research topics for FY 2010 can be downloaded.
